Ordering a Benjamin guitar
To reserve a place in my waiting list I require an initial non-returnable deposit of £500.
A few months before I start making an ordered
guitar I require at least one third of the total
price up front.
Most customers pay in two further instalments;
one half-way through the build and the final
one upon completion which usually includes any pickup costs, case upgrade
costs and
shipping.
Guitars are usually built within a batch of
ten instruments that takes around one year from
start to finish.
Let me know if you have any special materials
requirements as soon as possible so I can
source timbers I don't keep in stock and get them stabilizing in my workshop
- a larger
deposit will be required for special order woods.
Current order situation - June 2015
At this point in time, as I re-open my waiting
list after two and a half years catching up with
orders, I still have one year's worth of work to complete and so the first
ten new orders will
be started in mid 2016 and completed a year later and the next ten will be
started in
approximately mid 2017. If I take two full years' worth of orders I will shut
the list until I
bring the wait time down again. All times quoted for starting and completion
are
approximate and are not guaranteed.
Update July 2015: I have filled
the first batch of orders already so any new orders will be on
the longer time-scale - starting construction in approximately two years from
now (mid 2017)
and finished around a year later.
